PEZ Apologizes For Web Site Delay Posted by Paul on May 18,2006:
PEZ.com has a letter on their website apologizing for the delay in bringing up their new site. Although they don't explain the actual cause of the delay, they do take this opportunity to talk about what kinds of changes are in store for the site.
The changes include:
- A chat room for collectors
- A new section written by a collector
- Ability to buy one dispenser instead of an entire set (entire "offer")
- Dispensers will be packaged the same as in retail stores
- Shipping prices will be more realistic (lower)
- The site will be kept up-to-date and will include more information, such as a list of all current dispensers
- People outside the US will be able to buy from the site
In addition, they will attempt to address the business issues that plagued them in the past: backorders and poor customer service.
Finally, PEZ says that they are constructing a new business group that will be dedicated to online sales and marketing. I wonder why this group is still being constructed in May, when the site was originally planned to go online in April? It seems like that would have been a prerequisite for starting construction on a new web site. Perhaps there are some personnel changes going on behind the scenes. In any case, we're glad to see finally see some some word from PEZ, two weeks after the deadline for the new site has passed. We're looking forward to the new site, new store, and new offers!
