We Review "You're A Pezhead" CD Posted by Paul on April 9,2003:
"You're A Pezhead" by Taylor Davis is probably the only song written about collecting PEZ dispensers. The CD is smaller than a standard CD. It's a little larger than a business card and is not round, so you'll want to check to make sure your CD player can accommodate it. It works great in my computer's CD tray. The CD comes packaged in a jewel case with a blue and yellow paper insert that features pictures of "Taylor" and "Davis" as fantasy PEZ heads.
Unlike many of the PEZ-related products that seem to be flooding the market lately, this is not a "licensed" item. Instead, it's a song about the obsession of PEZ collecting. I think this makes it a better collectible than say, PEZ popcorn or PEZ shorts, where the link to PEZ is hard to establish.
The song is sung and played in a folksy style--think banjo, electric guitar, and piano. The lyrics go into detail about how crazy and quirky PEZ collectors are:
There's a world out there, likes of which I never knew Let me tell ya friends, be surprised at what they do Collecting PEZ dispensers, any shape and any size It's a favorite pastime that you're sure to recognize Call it odd human condition, call it a family tradition...
When you're finished listening, the catchy refrain "You're a PEZhead, a PEZhead" will be running over and over through your head.
This is a fun song that any serious PEZ collector will want to have. I'm sure it will be a fixture at PEZ gatherings for years to come.
"You're A Pezhead" runs 2 minutes and 33 seconds and is available from www.pezhead.ca for $7.99.
